Any male or female of Indian origin (regardless of his/her place of birth) between
the ages of 11 and 15 years in Junior Pageant and ages between 16 and 22 years in
Youth Pageant (on December 31st of the year he/she participates), never married
and never having had a child, is eligible to participate. Need to send a copy of
age proof, copy of Passport or Birth Certificate.
1. Please fill out (all the fields) the online Pageant enrollment form. If your
candidacy is approved, you will be contacted about other details.
2. All participants need to participate in mandatory rehearsals/training sessions
which will be held in NJ. Absence from rehearsal/training sessions forfeit the chance
to participate in the ATA Junior or Youth Pageant.
3. You will be required to upload the following items along with the online Pageant
enrollment form [Maximum size: 4MB each]:
• Two high resolution photos. One head shot and one full length.
• Identification showing proof of age (passport, driver’s license, State
issued ID, or birth certificate)
• Identification showing proof of residency.
4. The contestant must behave in a manner befitting the Pageant show. The ATA is
NOT RESPONSIBLE for the contestant or any of his/her personal belongings.
5. Carry your tote-bag and cosmetic case with the necessary items you will need.
6. Arrive backstage at least 60 minutes before the show.
7. Look for the line-up of garments to be worn for the show. Be sure you know the
person and garment you are to follow in each change.
8. See that your garments are in the correct order. Organize your accessories.
9. Be considerate of others. Remain as quiet as possible at the backstage.
10. Listen to the commentator, but do not look at her. Maintain eye contact with
your audience.
11. Return all garments to hangers and hang them properly. Place all accessories
in their original boxes, etc.
Since ATA Junior and Youth Pageants are conservative pageants, proper attire for
all segments is mandatory. No indecent attire will be permitted. The ATA Pageant
Committee in its sole discretion retains the right to alter the format. Junior and
Youth Pageants will consist of two segments (a) Indian Dress (b) Western Dress
Due to time constraints, the Pageant show will be done strictly within the given
time slot. NO EXCEPTIONS, THE CONTESTANT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAVE ANYONE ON STAGE
DURING THE TALENT SEGMENT (I.E. BACKUP MUSICIANS ETC.)
Judges will be selected for Junior and Youth Pageants by the ATA Cultural Committee
to select the candidates for the Best Photogenic (including smile) Best Personality,
Best Attitude, ATA Fashion Icon (means overall). The judges will be eminent respected
members of the Indian, American and International Community. THE DECISION OF THE
JUDGES IS FINAL. THE ATA BEARS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES.
